The Sun Hydraulics SXCALDN (SXCALDN) is a direct-acting sequence valve designed to supply a secondary circuit with flow once the inlet port 1 pressure surpasses the valve setting. This valve controls the pressure at port 1 relative to the drain port 3, and all three-port sequence cartridges are interchangeable in terms of flow path and cavity size. Despite being a zero pilot flow valve, it requires port 3 to be connected to maintain a pressure reference; blocking this port can lead to malfunction due to seal weepage. The pressure at port 3 adds directly to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio, with a maximum limit of 5000 psi (350 bar).
