The Sun Hydraulics SQHBQWN (SQHBQWN) is a kickdown sequence valve designed to optimize hydraulic flow control by kicking completely open when the pressure at inlet port 1 surpasses the valve setting, allowing for an unrestricted flow path from port 1 to port 2. This valve remains open as long as the pressure at port 1 exceeds that at port 2, and it resets only when pressure at port 1 falls below the set level, with flow ceasing between ports and pressure at port 2 being equal to or greater than that at port 1. Not recommended for load-holding applications, this valve features a main stage orifice protected by a 150-micron stainless steel screen and should not have pressure exceeding 5000 psi (350 bar) at drain port 3. It is ideally used on the actuator side of systems, requiring flow cessation for resetting, but can be adapted for pump-side use if pump flow is halted. The product incorporates Sun's floating style construction to prevent internal binding due to installation torque or machining variations. Physically and functionally interchangeable with other three-port sequence cartridges of similar frame size, it boasts a capacity of up to 60 gpm (240 L/min). The factory pressure settings are established at the kickdown point with a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). Typical response time is approximately 25 ms with minimal leakage rates. The adjustment mechanism involves up to five clockwise turns to increase settings, with specific torque requirements for installation and locknut adjustments. Weighing in at approximately 1.50 lb (0.70 kg), it includes Viton seals as part of its cartridge seal kit option.
