The Sun Hydraulics RVGDCHN (RVGDCHN) is a ventable, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridge with an external drain, designed to function as a normally closed pressure regulating valve. It operates by opening to tank port 2 when the inlet port 1 pressure reaches the valve setting, thereby throttling flow to regulate pressure. The valve includes a vent port 3 for remote control and a drain port 4 that ensures insensitivity to back pressure. Known for its accuracy and smooth operation, this valve is characterized by low pressure rise versus flow and moderate speed. It is capable of accepting maximum pressure at port 2 and can be utilized in cross-port relief circuits while considering spool leakage. However, it is not recommended for load-holding applications due to potential leakage. The main stage orifice features protection via a 150-micron stainless steel screen. The valve's construction incorporates Sun's floating style design to minimize binding risks due to excessive torque or machining variations. With a capacity of 60 gpm (240 L/min) and maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar), it offers control pilot flow between 15-20 in\u00b3/min (0.25-0.33 L/min). The typical response time is approximately 10 ms, with maximum valve leakage at 4 in\u00b3/min (65 cc/min) at 1000 psi (70 bar). Adjustments are made by turning clockwise up to five times, with specific requirements for installation torque and hex sizes provided for precise setup. This product weighs approximately 1.60 lb (0.70 kg) and uses Viton seal kits for optimal performance under various conditions.

Ventable, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridges with external drain are normally closed pressure regulating valves. When the pressure at the inlet (port 1) reaches the valve setting, the valve starts to open to tank (port 2), throttling flow to regulate the pressure. They provide a vent port (port 3) that connects between the main piston and pilot stage to provide for remote control by other pilot or 2-way valves and a drain (port 4) that makes them insensitive to back pressure. These valves are accurate, have low pressure rise vs. flow, they are smooth and quiet, and are moderately fast.

  • Will accept maximum pressure at port 2; suitable for use in cross port relief circuits. If used in cross port relief circuits, consider spool leakage.
  • Main stage orifice is protected by a 150 micron stainless steel screen.
  • Not suitable for use in load holding applications due to spool leakage.
  • Pressure at port 4 is directly additive to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio and should not exceed 5000 psi (350 bar).
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
