The Sun Hydraulics RVEAMLV (RVEAMLV) is a ventable, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridge designed for precision pressure regulation. This valve operates by opening to tank port 2 when the pressure at inlet port 1 reaches its set limit, thus throttling flow to maintain regulated pressure. It includes a vent port 3 for remote control via other pilot or 2-way valves, offering accurate performance with low pressure rise versus flow. The valve is characterized by its smooth, quiet operation and moderate response speed. It can handle maximum pressure at port 2, making it suitable for cross-port relief circuits; however, spool leakage should be considered in such applications. The main stage orifice is safeguarded by a 150-micron stainless steel screen. Notably, this valve is not recommended for load-holding applications due to potential spool leakage. Back pressure on tank port 2 directly adds to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio. Cartridges with EPDM seals are compatible with phosphate ester fluids but are vulnerable to damage from petroleum-based substances. The Sun floating style construction minimizes risks of internal part binding due to installation torque or machining variations. With a capacity of 30 gpm (120 L/min) and a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar), the RVEAMLV offers reliable control with factory settings established at 4 gpm (15 L/min). It features an adjustment range facilitated by five clockwise turns and incorporates various hex sizes for installation and adjustment purposes.
