The Sun Hydraulics RVCDKWV (RVCDKWV) is a ventable, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridge with an external drain, designed as a normally closed pressure regulating valve. This model begins to open to the tank port 2 when the inlet port 1 pressure reaches the valve setting, effectively throttling flow to maintain regulated pressure. It features a vent port 3 for remote control via other pilot or two-way valves and a drain port 4 for insensitivity to back pressure. The valve is known for its accuracy, low pressure rise compared to flow, smooth and quiet operation, and moderately fast response time of approximately 10 ms. Importantly, this cartridge can accept maximum pressure at port 2 and is suitable for cross-port relief circuits; however, spool leakage should be considered in such applications. Ventable, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridges with external drain are normally closed pressure regulating valves. When the pressure at the inlet (port 1) reaches the valve setting, the valve starts to open to tank (port 2), throttling flow to regulate the pressure. They provide a vent port (port 3) that connects between the main piston and pilot stage to provide for remote control by other pilot or 2-way valves and a drain (port 4) that makes them insensitive to back pressure. These valves are accurate, have low pressure rise vs. flow, they are smooth and quiet, and are moderately fast.
