The Sun Hydraulics RPKEKCV (Material Number: RPKEKCV) is a fast-acting, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridge designed to safeguard hydraulic components from pressure transients. This normally closed, pressure-limiting valve opens swiftly when the inlet port pressure reaches the set threshold, diverting flow to tank port 2 and thereby limiting pressure rise. Notably, it features low-pressure rise versus flow characteristics and rapid response times of approximately 2 milliseconds. The valve is equipped with a main stage orifice protected by a 150-micron stainless steel screen and incorporates Sun's floating style construction to prevent internal binding due to installation torque or machining variations. Ideal for cross-port relief circuits, this valve can handle maximum pressures at port 2 but is unsuitable for load-holding applications due to spool leakage. The back pressure on tank port 2 adds directly to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio. It fits into a T-18A cavity with a Series 4 capacity of up to 200 gpm (760 L/min) and operates under maximum pressures of 5000 psi (350 bar).
