The Sun Hydraulics RPGEJNV (RPGEJNV) is a fast-acting, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridge designed to protect hydraulic components from pressure transients. This normally closed, pressure-limiting valve operates by opening to tank port 2 when the inlet port 1 pressure reaches the valve setting, effectively throttling flow to limit pressure rise. With a capacity of 50 gpm (200 L/min) and a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar), this valve is suitable for use in cross-port relief circuits but not in load-holding applications due to spool leakage. It features a low-pressure rise versus flow and responds typically within 2 milliseconds. The main stage orifice is safeguarded by a 150-micron stainless steel screen, ensuring durability and reliability. The valve's construction incorporates Sun's floating style design to minimize internal parts binding from installation torque or machining variations. It is compatible with systems using phosphate ester fluids when configured with EPDM seals; however, exposure to petroleum-based fluids will damage these seals.
