The Sun Hydraulics PVJBLAN (PVJBLAN) is a ventable, pilot-operated pressure reducing/relieving valve designed to regulate high primary pressures at the inlet to a consistent reduced pressure at port 1, while providing full-flow relief from port 1 to tank port 3. This valve is equipped with a vent port (port 4) that allows for remote control via pilot or two-way valves. The pressure at port 3 directly adds to the valve setting in a 1:1 ratio and should not exceed 3000 psi (210 bar). If reverse flow is required from reduced pressure port 1 to inlet port 2, it is recommended to incorporate a separate check valve into the circuit. The pilot-operated design ensures minimal deadband transition between reducing and relieving modes, maintaining stability and low hysteresis with exceptionally flat pressure-flow characteristics. The maximum inlet pressure depends on the adjustment range, with ranges A, B, and H tested for up to 3000 psi (210 bar), ranges D, E, N, and Q for up to 2000 psi (140 bar), and ranges C and W for up to 5000 psi (350 bar). The valve features Sun's floating style construction that reduces the risk of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque or cavity/cartridge variations. It fits into a T-24A cavity with a series-4 capacity of up to 80 gpm (320 L/min). Installation requires specific torques: valve installation torque is between 350 - 375 lbf ft (474 - 508 Nm), adjustment screw internal hex size is ^5\u204432 in. (4 mm), locknut hex size is ^9\u204416 in. (15 mm), and locknut torque is between 80 - 90 lbf in. (9 -10 Nm). Ventable, pilot-operated pressure reducing/relieving valves reduce a high primary pressure at the inlet to a constant reduced pressure at port 1, with a full-flow relief function from port 1 to tank (port 3). The vent port (port 4) can be used as a means for remote control by pilot or 2-way valves.

  • Pressure at port 3 is directly additive to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio and should not exceed 3000 psi (210 bar).
  • Full reverse flow from reduced pressure (port 1) to inlet (port 2) may cause the main spool to close. If reverse free flow is required in the circuit, consider adding a separate check valve to the circuit.
