The Sun Hydraulics PVFAWDV (PVFAWDV) is an externally drained, pilot-operated pressure reducing/relieving valve designed to manage high primary pressure at inlet port 2, reducing it to a constant level at port 1, while providing a full-flow relief function from port 1 to tank port 3. This valve is insensitive to pressure at tank port 3 due to its pilot section draining at port 4, allowing for remote control via pilot or two-way valves. The maximum allowable pressure at port 3 is capped at 3000 psi (210 bar). The PVFAWDV exhibits low deadband transition between reducing and relieving modes and features exceptionally flat pressure-flow characteristics with high stability and low hysteresis. The recommended maximum inlet pressure varies by adjustment range: D, E, N, and Q ranges are tested with a maximum differential of 2000 psi (140 bar), while A, B, and H ranges allow for a differential of up to 3000 psi (210 bar), and C and W ranges handle up to 5000 psi (350 bar). Pressure at the drain port should not exceed 5000 psi (350 bar), as it directly influences the valve setting in a 1:1 ratio. The valve incorporates Sun's floating style construction to reduce internal binding risks due to installation torque or machining variations. Externally drained, pilot-operated pressure reducing/relieving valves reduce a high primary pressure at the inlet (port 2) to a constant reduced pressure at port 1, with a full-flow relief function from port 1 to tank (port 3). Draining the pilot section at port 4 makes these valves insensitive to pressure at tank (port 3) and provides a means for remote control by pilot or 2-way valves.
