The Sun Hydraulics PPFDLAN (Material Number: PPFDLAN) is a pilot-operated, pressure reducing/relieving valve designed to maintain a constant reduced pressure at port 1 while offering a full-flow relief function from port 1 to tank port 3. It features a .020 inch (0.51 mm) diameter bleed orifice that biases the valve into a reducing mode in dead-headed conditions, enhancing responsiveness during sudden flow demands. The valve's setting is directly influenced by the pressure at port 3 at a 1:1 ratio, with maximum permissible pressure not exceeding 3000 psi (210 bar). It supports various inlet pressures based on adjustment ranges, with ranges D, E, N, and Q tested for up to 2000 psi (140 bar) differential, ranges A, B, and H for up to 3000 psi (210 bar), and ranges C and W for up to 5000 psi (350 bar). Pilot-operated, pressure reducing/relieving valves reduce a high primary pressure at the inlet (port 2) to a constant reduced pressure at port 1, with a full-flow relief function from port 1 to tank (port 3).

  • This valve incorporates a .020 (0,51 mm) in. diameter bleed orifice between the reduced pressure and tank. This biases the valve into a reducing mode in a dead headed condition which helps the valve respond to a sudden call for flow.
  • Pressure at port 3 is directly additive to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio and should not exceed 3000 psi (210 bar).
  • Maximum pressure at port 3 should be limited to 3000 psi (210 bar).
  • Recommended maximum inlet pressure is determined by the adjustment range. Ranges D, E, N, and Q are tested with a 2000 psi (140 bar) maximum differential between inlet and reduced pressure. Ranges A, B, and H are tested with a 3000 psi (210 bar) maximum differential between inlet and reduced pressure. Ranges C and W are tested with 5000 psi (350 bar) of inlet pressure.
