The Sun Hydraulics NFABKXN (Material Number: NFABKXN) is a two-port, pilot-stage needle valve designed for precise regulation of pilot flow in mainstage valves or metering input flow in low-flow applications. This cartridge utilizes the Sun T8A cavity, making it an optimal choice for use with Sun's pilot-operated, mainstage valves. It eliminates the need for separate pilot lines, requiring only one cavity to accommodate both control and primary functions. The valve can handle pressures up to 5000 psi (350 bar) at ports 1 and 2. It features a needle that adjusts from fully closed to fully open in three complete turns, providing extremely fine resolution. The adjustment mechanism is equipped with a locking device to maintain consistent orifice flow rate, with a leakage rate at shutoff of less than one drop per minute. The NFABKXN valve has a capacity of .2 gpm (.035 inch/0.8 L/min/0.9 mm), an effective orifice size of .035 inches (0.9 mm), and requires installation torque between 20-25 lbf ft (27-33 Nm). The valve hex size is 7/8 inches (22.2 mm). It comes with a Viton seal kit (Cartridge: 990008006). Two-port, pilot-stage needle valves are fully adjustable devices used to regulate pilot flow in a main-stage valve or to meter in/out flow in low flow applications.   • Utilizes the Sun T-8A 2-port cavity making it the ideal choice to use in conjunction with Sun's main stage pilot or vent-to-operate cartridges. Separate pilot lines are eliminated and only one cavity needs to be machined to accommodate both the control and primary function. Note: All 2-position, 2-way pilot stage control cartridges utilize the same cavity and are physically interchangeable. Functionality is the only consideration.
  • Note: The main stage valve should first be installed to the correct torque value followed by the T-8A pilot control section into the main stage valve to its required torque value.
  • Ports 1 and 2 may be pressured to 5000 psi (350 bar).
