The Sun Hydraulics FXAMXHV (FXAMXHV) is a fixed orifice, pressure-compensated flow control valve designed for precise flow regulation in meter-in or meter-out applications, especially where there are significant pressure fluctuations. It offers various flow rates and features a sharp-edged orifice design that minimizes flow variations due to changes in viscosity. This valve is an Insert style, intended to be embedded within a manifold or actuator. It fits the T8DP cavity, and users should refer to the cavity drawing for detailed application instructions. The valve supports a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar) at ports 1 and 2, with flow tolerances ranging from 32 cc/min to 72 cc/min depending on the rate selected. It incorporates Sun's floating style construction, reducing the likelihood of internal parts binding from excessive installation torque or machining variations in the cavity or cartridge. The FXAMXHV has a capacity of .5 gpm (2 L/min) and requires an installation torque of 20-25 lbf ft (27-34 Nm). The internal hex size is 5/16 inches (8 mm). When used properly, this valve can act as a two-port restrictive flow control if the bypass port is blocked. For optimal accuracy in flow control, it is advisable to operate within the bottom two-thirds of its range.

Fixed-orifice, pressure-compensated flow controls provide precise flow regulation for meter-in or meter-out applications where there may be wide pressure fluctuations.
