The Sun Hydraulics FXAGXAV (FXAGXAV) is a fixed orifice, pressure-compensated flow control valve designed for precise flow regulation in meter-in or meter-out applications, even under wide pressure fluctuations. This model offers a variety of flow rates, with sharp-edged orifice design that minimizes flow variations caused by viscosity changes. It is capable of handling up to 5000 psi (350 bar) at ports 1 and 2, making it suitable for high-pressure environments. The valve features flush mount capabilities allowing for a compact installation footprint and can be easily mounted flush with the surface of the manifold. The FXAGXAV incorporates Sun's floating style construction to reduce the risk of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque or machining variations in the cavity/cartridge. It fits into a T8A cavity and belongs to the P series, with a capacity of 0.5 gpm (2 L/min). The valve requires an internal hex size of 5/16 inch (8 mm) and should be installed with a torque between 25-30 lbf ft (35-40 Nm). Flow tolerances are specified as follows: A Flow Rate at 2.0 in/min (32 cc/min), B Flow Rate at 2.5 in/min (40 cc/min), D and F Flow Rates at 3.0 in/min (48 cc/min), H and J Flow Rates at 4.0 in/min (64 cc/min), and L Flow Rate at 4.5 in/min (72 cc/min). The compensating pressure is approximately 100 psi (7 bar), ensuring acceptable capacity without interfering with circuit operations.
