The Sun Hydraulics FREALAN (Material Number: FREALAN) is a versatile bypass-restrictive, fixed-orifice, priority flow control valve designed to manage input flow efficiently. It directs the input flow at port 1 to fulfill the priority flow requirement at port 3. Any excess input flow is diverted through port 2 and can be utilized in secondary circuits. This valve requires a customer-specified flow rating, with factory settings accurate within a 10% margin of the requested value. The maximum pressure at port 3 should not exceed 3000 psi (210 bar). A tunable adjustment control option allows for up to a 22% variation from the nominal factory preset flow, adjustable over three turns of the screw. Both priority and bypass flows are operable up to system pressure, maintaining consistent priority despite input variations. The design ensures that bypass flow only becomes available once priority needs are met, and pressure at port 2 can surpass that at port 3. With a sharp-edged orifice design, it minimizes variations due to viscosity changes and features Sun's floating style construction to reduce internal binding risk due to installation torque or machining variations. The valve fits into a T-17A cavity and belongs to Series 3 with a capacity of up to 25 gpm (95 L/min). Bypass/restrictive, fixed-orifice, priority flow controls take an input flow at port 1 and use it to satisfy the priority flow at port 3. If the input flow exceeds the priority flow requirement, the excess is bypassed out port 2. The bypass flow may be used in a secondary circuit.
