The Sun Hydraulics FRDCOBV (FRDCOBV) is a specialized flow control valve designed to manage flow in bypass mode only, with modifications from the FRDA model to enhance system stability. It operates by ensuring that when the bypass pressure surpasses the priority port pressure, the priority flow ceases to be pressure compensated. Customers must specify a desired flow rating, which is factory set within 10% of the requested value. The valve has a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar) and a capacity of 12 gpm (45 L/min). It incorporates a sharp-edged orifice design to minimize flow variations due to changes in viscosity, and features a tunable adjustment control option allowing up to 25% variation from the nominal factory preset flow through three turns of an adjustment screw.
