The Sun Hydraulics FRDAXBV (FRDAXBV) is a high-performance bypass-restrictive, fixed-orifice, priority flow control valve designed to manage hydraulic flow efficiently. It takes an input flow at port 1 and directs it to satisfy the priority flow at port 3. If the input flow surpasses the priority requirement, the surplus is bypassed through port 2, which can be utilized in a secondary circuit. Customers must specify a desired flow rating, with factory settings accurate within 10% of the request. The valve is suitable for use with systems operating up to a maximum pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar) and can handle an input flow of up to 30 gpm (120 L/min). The priority and bypass flows are usable up to system operating pressure, with priority remaining relatively constant regardless of input variations. The unit features a sharp-edged orifice design that minimizes variations due to viscosity changes and offers an optional adjustable control for fine-tuning up to 25% from the nominal factory preset flow using a simple screw adjustment. It incorporates Sun's floating style construction, reducing the risk of internal binding from excessive torque or machining variations. Bypass/restrictive, fixed-orifice, priority flow controls take an input flow at port 1 and use it to satisfy the priority flow at port 3. If the input flow exceeds the priority flow requirement, the excess is bypassed out port 2. The bypass flow may be used in a secondary circuit.
