The Sun Hydraulics FPHKXCV812 (FPHKXCV812) is a pilot-operated, normally closed electroproportional throttle valve with a reverse free flow check. This advanced hydraulic component is designed to regulate flow with precision, featuring an electroproportional control mechanism that opens the main stage poppet in response to coil energization. It enables metered flow from port 1 to port 2 while allowing reverse free flow from port 2 to port 1, making it versatile for various hydraulic systems. The valve can handle pressures up to 5000 psi and boasts a capacity of up to 60 gallons per minute (240 liters per minute). Its construction incorporates Sun's floating style design, reducing the risk of internal binding due to installation torque or machining variations. The FPHKXCV812 is compatible with interchangeable coils from Sun's range of solenoid-operated valves, offering flexibility in installation direction. For optimal performance, it is recommended to use an amplifier with current sensing and adjustable dither settings between 100 and 250 Hz. The valve also provides several manual override options, including a momentary twist override that allows manual operation by twisting the override clockwise by 90 degrees. Additional technical specifications include a cavity size of T16A and a nominal deadband percentage of input at 25%. The valve's manual override requires a force of approximately 5 lbs per 1000 psi at Port 1, with a stroke length of .06 inches (1.50 mm). With a solenoid tube diameter of .75 inches (19 mm), the valve has an installation torque requirement ranging from 150 to 160 lbf-ft (203 to 217 Nm). Weighing in at approximately 1.50 lb (0.70 kg) without the coil and about 2.00 lb with it, this valve also supports Viton seal kits for both cartridge and coil applications, ensuring durability and reliability in demanding environments.

This valve is a pilot operated, normally closed, electro-proportional throttle with reverse free flow check. Energizing the coil generates an opening force on the pilot stage which vents the main stage poppet to open proportionally. Metered flow is from port 1 to port 2 with reverse free flow from port 2 to port 1.
- Capable of operating with pressures up to 5000 psi.
- Coils are interchangeable with Sun's other full flow, solenoid-operated valves and can be mounted on the tube in either direction.
- This cartridge has several manual override choices, including no manual override. See Option Configuration.
- For optimum performance, an amplifier with current sensing and adjustable dither should be used. Dither should be adjustable between 100 - 250 Hz.
- The momentary/twist override option "E" allows the operator to shift the valve by twisting the manual override clockwise 90 degrees.
- Depending on circuit requirements, a reverse free flow check bypassing the compensator may be needed when using the FPHK with an external compensator.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
