The Sun Hydraulics FPHKXCV524 (FPHKXCV524) is a pilot-operated, normally closed, electroproportional throttle valve with a reverse free flow check feature. This valve is designed to operate under pressures up to 5000 psi and efficiently manages flow from port 1 to port 2, with reverse free flow from port 2 to port 1. It incorporates Sun's floating style construction which reduces the risk of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque or machining variations. The valve's coils are interchangeable with Sun's other full-flow solenoid-operated valves and can be mounted in either direction on the tube. The FPHKXCV524 can handle a capacity of up to 60 gpm (240 L/min) and has a cavity size of T16A in Series 3. For optimal performance, it is recommended that an amplifier with current sensing and adjustable dither be used, with dither frequency adjustable between 100-250 Hz. This model also offers several manual override options including the momentary-twist override option E, which allows the operator to shift the valve by twisting the manual override clockwise 90 degrees. Depending on circuit requirements, a reverse free flow check bypassing the compensator may be necessary when using this valve with an external compensator. The valve has a nominal deadband as a percentage of input at 25% and maximum leakage at specified conditions is minimal at about 10 drops/min or approximately 0.7 cc/min at maximum pressure conditions.
