The Sun Hydraulics FPHKXCN2C12V (FPHKXCN2C12V) is a pilot-operated, normally closed, electroproportional throttle valve with a reverse free flow check. This valve is designed to control the flow of hydraulic fluid by energizing the coil, which generates an opening force on the pilot stage and vents the main stage poppet proportionally. It allows metered flow from port 1 to port 2 and permits reverse free flow from port 2 to port 1. Capable of operating under pressures up to 5000 psi, this versatile component is ideal for applications requiring precise flow control and modulation. The FPHKXCN2C12V features interchangeable coils compatible with Sun's other full-flow solenoid-operated valves and can be mounted in either direction on the tube. For enhanced performance, it is recommended to use an amplifier with current sensing and adjustable dither between 100 and 250 Hz. The valve offers several manual override options, including a momentary twist override that allows manual shifting by twisting clockwise 90 degrees. Incorporating Sun's floating style construction minimizes the risk of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque or cavity-cartridge machining variations. The valve fits into a T16A cavity and belongs to series 3, with a capacity of up to 60 gpm (240 L/min). It has a nominal deadband as a percentage of input at approximately 25%, ensuring accurate control within specified parameters. The FPHKXCN2C12V also provides options for seal kits with Viton material for both cartridge and coil components, ensuring durability in various operating conditions. With its robust design and flexibility in configuration, this valve serves as an essential component for systems requiring reliable hydraulic fluid management.

- Capable of operating with pressures up to 5000 psi.
- Coils are interchangeable with Sun's other full flow, solenoid-operated valves and can be mounted on the tube in either direction.
- This cartridge has several manual override choices, including no manual override. See Option Configuration.
- For optimum performance, an amplifier with current sensing and adjustable dither should be used. Dither should be adjustable between 100 - 250 Hz.
- The momentary/twist override option "E" allows the operator to shift the valve by twisting the manual override clockwise 90 degrees.
- Depending on circuit requirements, a reverse free flow check bypassing the compensator may be needed when using the FPHK with an external compensator.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
