The Sun Hydraulics FPHKMEN212 (FPHKMEN212) is a pilot-operated, normally closed electroproportional throttle valve featuring a reverse free flow check. This advanced hydraulic component is designed to manage flow with precision, making it ideal for applications requiring controlled fluid dynamics. When the coil is energized, it generates an opening force on the pilot stage, which vents the main stage poppet to open proportionally, allowing metered flow from port 1 to port 2 and reverse free flow from port 2 to port 1. The valve can handle pressures up to 5000 psi and supports a capacity of up to 60 gpm (240 L/min). The FPHKMEN212 incorporates Sun's floating style construction, minimizing the risk of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque or machining variations in the cavity or cartridge. The valve's solenoid coils are interchangeable with other full-flow solenoid-operated valves from Sun Hydraulics and can be mounted in either direction on the tube. For optimal performance, it's recommended to use an amplifier with current sensing and adjustable dither between 100-250 Hz. Additionally, this model offers several manual override options, including a momentary-twist option that allows shifting by twisting the manual override clockwise by 90 degrees. The valve fits into a T16A cavity and features a series designation of 3. It has a nominal deadband percentage of input at 25%, with a maximum leakage rate of 10 drops/min at 5000 psi (0.7 cc/min at 350 bar). The manual override requires a force of approximately 5 lbs/1000 psi (33 N/100 bar) at Port 1 and has a stroke length of .06 inches (1.50 mm). With its robust design and versatile capabilities, this valve is well-suited for demanding hydraulic systems requiring precise control and reliability.

This valve is a pilot operated, normally closed, electro-proportional throttle with reverse free flow check. Energizing the coil generates an opening force on the pilot stage which vents the main stage poppet to open proportionally. Metered flow is from port 1 to port 2 with reverse free flow from port 2 to port 1.
- Capable of operating with pressures up to 5000 psi.
- Coils are interchangeable with Sun's other full flow, solenoid-operated valves and can be mounted on the tube in either direction.
- This cartridge has several manual override choices, including no manual override. See Option Configuration.
- For optimum performance, an amplifier with current sensing and adjustable dither should be used. Dither should be adjustable between 100 - 250 Hz.
- The momentary/twist override option "E" allows the operator to shift the valve by twisting the manual override clockwise 90 degrees.
- Depending on circuit requirements, a reverse free flow check bypassing the compensator may be needed when using the FPHK with an external compensator.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
