The Sun Hydraulics FPHKMCN824 (FPHKMCN824) is a pilot-operated, normally closed, electroproportional throttle valve with a reverse free flow check. This advanced hydraulic component is designed to manage fluid flow efficiently by energizing the coil, which generates an opening force on the pilot stage, venting the main stage poppet to open proportionally. The metered flow occurs from port 1 to port 2, while reverse free flow is facilitated from port 2 to port 1. It can operate under pressures up to 5000 psi and supports a capacity of up to 60 gpm (240 L/min). The valve's coil is interchangeable with other full-flow solenoid-operated valves from Sun Hydraulics and can be mounted in either direction on the tube for flexibility in installation. For optimal performance, it is recommended to use an amplifier with current sensing and adjustable dither between 100-250 Hz. This model offers several manual override options, including a momentary-twist override that allows manual operation by twisting the override clockwise by 90 degrees. Incorporating Sun's floating style construction minimizes internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque or cavity/cartridge machining variations. The valve fits into a T16A cavity and belongs to Series 3. It has minimal leakage at maximum pressure and requires specific torque for installation (150-160 lbf ft or 203-217 Nm).
