The Sun Hydraulics DNCADTV72419 (DNCADTV72419) is a high-performance, solenoid-operated, 4-way, 2-position cartridge valve designed for precise control in hydraulic systems. This direct-acting, balanced spool directional valve features a closed transition between positions, which significantly minimizes oil loss during shifting—a crucial factor in maintaining efficiency in pilot control circuits. The valve is uniquely engineered to operate without minimum hydraulic pressure, enhancing its versatility across various applications. With a capacity of 8 gpm/30 L/min and a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi/350 bar, the DNCADTV72419 is robust enough for demanding applications. It boasts a rapid response time of approximately 50 ms and maintains a low leakage rate at high pressures. Notably, the valve’s solenoid tube assembly is fatigue rated for high-pressure service up to 5000 psi/350 bar, ensuring durability and reliability even under strenuous conditions. This model incorporates EPDM seals specifically for use with phosphate ester fluids; however, exposure to petroleum-based fluids should be avoided as it can damage the seals. The wet armature design of the valve allows the working fluid to surround the armature, which could be a consideration when dealing with long periods of coil energization that may affect fluid integrity over time. Additional features include interchangeable coils with other Sun Series 1 solenoid products and multiple coil connector options that offer environmental protection ratings up to IP69K. The valve's construction utilizes Sun’s floating style design to reduce the risk of internal parts binding due to installation issues or cavity/cartridge machining variations. This model also supports various configuration options for coil termination and voltage settings to accommodate different system requirements and operational environments.

This solenoid-operated, 4-way, 2-position cartridge is a direct-acting, balanced spool directional valve. The transition between positions is closed. The closed transition greatly reduces the loss of oil when shifting which can be of particular importance in pilot control circuits.
- Valve capacity is based on port 3 as the inlet and port 1 as the tank. Although reverse flow is possible, the same performance cannot be guaranteed and is not recommended.
- The solenoid tube assembly is fatigue rated for 5000 psi (350 bar) service.
- This valve is direct actuated and requires no minimum hydraulic pressure for operation.
- Cartridges configured with EPDM seals are for use in systems with phosphate ester fluids. Exposure to petroleum based fluids, greases and lubricants will damage the seals.
- This valve utilizes a wet armature design. This means that the working fluid surrounds the armature and is exposed to the heat generated by the coil. This can be a factor if the coil is energized for long periods of time. Some fluids, notably water/glycol mixtures, break down at these temperatures over time and form varnishes that will affect the function of the cartridge.
- A wide variety of coil termination and voltage options are available, with and without surge protection. See the CONFIGURATION section.
- The solenoid's unique magnetic design results in a high efficiency solenoid, yielding high spool actuating force per Watt expended, leading to reliable valve shifting.
- Coils are interchangeable with other Sun Series 1 solenoid products and can be mounted on the tube in either direction.
- Coil connector options offer ratings up to IP69K. See individual coil product pages for details. Additional weatherized coils and kits are available for more complete environmental protection.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
