The Sun Hydraulics DCCCXCV (DCCCXCV) is a high-performance, three-position, 4-way directional cartridge valve that features spring-centered control and a robust design suitable for demanding hydraulic applications. With a capacity ranging between 7 to 10 gpm (28 to 40 L/min), this valve is designed to operate under a maximum pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). The DCCCXCV model incorporates hardened spool and sleeve components which ensure minimal leakage and superior wear characteristics, crucial for maintaining efficiency and longevity in hydraulic systems. This valve's pilot ports (port 5 and port 6) are securely sealed from the work ports, preventing cross-contamination and ensuring reliable operation. It also features Sun's unique floating style construction which minimizes internal part binding—a common issue caused by excessive installation torque or variations in cavity/cartridge machining. This design enhancement significantly enhances the operational reliability of the valve under varied installation conditions. The DCCCXCV is equipped with a T61A cavity configuration and belongs to Series 1. It requires a minimum pilot pressure of 175 psi (12 bar) to shift the valve effectively. The maximum leakage at operational conditions is limited to 2 in³/min at 1000 psi (30 cc/min at 70 bar), ensuring efficient performance even under high-pressure drops. Additionally, the valve has specific dimensions for hex size at 7/8 in. (22.2 mm) and an installation torque range of 30-35 lbf·ft (41-47 Nm), making it compatible with standard installation tools and procedures in hydraulic systems. Overall, the Sun Hydraulics DCCCXCV offers robust performance for hydraulic systems requiring precise control over flow and direction, with its advanced sealing technology and durable construction enhancing its suitability for various industrial applications.

Three-position, 4-way directional cartridges are spring-centered, 6-port directional valves that can be configured from a choice of spool options. The supply port is port 3 and all ports will accept 5000 psi (350 bar). Capacity for these pilot-to-shift valves is dependent on the spool type specified.
- All ports will accept 5000 psi (350 bar), including the x and y pilot ports (port 5 and port 6).
- The reason for the different capacities, or performance limits, for the different spool configurations are flow forces. Flow forces are proportional to flow and pressure drop. Typically, they resist the opening of a passage. Spool configurations that open passages as they spring center are the most susceptible. If the flow forces due to the flow and pressure conditions exceed the centering spring force the valve may not shift completely. Higher flows may be used at lower pressures.
- Leakage listed in technical data is for each path.
- The pilot ports, 5 and 6, are positively sealed from the work ports.
- Hardened spool and sleeve provide consistent and low spool leakage rates and excellent wear characteristics.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
