The Sun Hydraulics A7U (Material Number: A7U) is a versatile manifold engineered for use with solenoid-operated and electroproportional cartridges. This product features additional material around the cavity to ensure coil clearance and accommodate Sun's weatherized coil. Designed as a line mount body type, it incorporates a ninety-degree configuration with a reverse flow check, making it compatible with both standard and weatherized coils. The manifold includes 22 mounting holes, each with a diameter of 0.34 inches (8.6 mm), drilled through for secure installation. It supports open cavities in the T11A configuration and features a port size of 3/8 BSPP. The A7U manifold is constructed from 6061T651 aluminum, chosen for its strength, affordability, machinability, availability in various forms, and superior corrosion resistance compared to other alloys like 2024 aluminum. The choice not to anodize the aluminum is based on several factors including cost-effectiveness and maintaining fatigue life since anodizing can reduce fatigue life by up to 50%. This manifold does not require anodizing due to its inherent corrosion resistance and because it functions primarily as plumbing rather than wear surfaces.
