The Sun Hydraulics RVCALCN (RVCALCN) is a ventable, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridge designed for precise pressure regulation. This valve remains normally closed and begins to open when the inlet port 1 pressure reaches the set threshold, directing flow to tank port 2 and regulating pressure effectively. It features a vent port 3 that allows remote control via other pilot or two-way valves. Known for its accuracy, low-pressure rise versus flow, smooth operation, and moderate speed, this valve is suitable for applications requiring cross-port relief circuits but not recommended for load-holding due to spool leakage. Back pressure on tank port 2 directly adds to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio. Cartridges with EPDM seals are compatible with phosphate ester fluids but should avoid petroleum-based substances.
