The Sun Hydraulics RPGEJAV (RPGEJAV) is a fast-acting, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridge designed to protect hydraulic components from pressure transients. This normally closed, pressure-limiting valve rapidly opens and closes, offering low pressure rise versus flow but sacrificing smoothness for speed. When the inlet port pressure reaches the valve setting, it begins to open to tank port 2, throttling flow to limit pressure increase. Notably, these valves are not suitable for load holding applications due to spool leakage. They are interchangeable with all 2-port relief cartridges of the same frame size and flow path and can handle maximum pressure at port 2, making them suitable for cross-port relief circuits. The main stage orifice is safeguarded by a 150-micron stainless steel screen. The RPGEJAV cartridge incorporates Sun's floating style construction to minimize internal part binding due to excessive installation torque or machining variations. It features a cavity size of T-3A and a series number of 2 with a capacity of up to 50 gpm (200 L/min).
