The Sun Hydraulics RPGEFSV (Material Number: RPGEFSV) is a fast-acting, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridge designed to protect hydraulic components from pressure transients. These normally closed, pressure-limiting valves are known for their rapid opening and closing capabilities, though this comes at the expense of smoothness. When the inlet port 1 reaches the set pressure, the valve begins to open to tank port 2, throttling flow to limit any further pressure increase. This model features low pressure rise versus flow and exceptional speed with a typical response time of 2 milliseconds. The valve accepts maximum pressure at port 2, making it suitable for cross-port relief circuits; however, spool leakage should be considered in such applications. It is not recommended for load-holding applications due to potential leakage. The main stage orifice is safeguarded by a 150-micron stainless steel screen, and back pressure on tank port 2 adds directly to the valve setting at a ratio of 1:1.
