The Sun Hydraulics RDDACWN (RDDACWN) is a direct-acting relief cartridge designed to protect hydraulic systems from pressure transients. This normally closed, pressure-limiting valve opens to the tank port when inlet pressure reaches the preset level, thereby throttling flow and limiting pressure rise. Notable for its smooth, quiet operation and essentially zero leakage, the valve is dirt-tolerant, immune to silting, and responds quickly. It is interchangeable with other 2-port relief cartridges of the same frame size and flow path. The RDDACWN can handle maximum pressure at port 2, making it suitable for cross-port relief circuits and load-holding applications. The valve's adjust screw seals are exposed to system pressure; hence adjustments should only be made when the system is depressurized. For optimal performance, select a spring range where the desired setting falls between midrange and maximum pressure. The valve exhibits minimal sensitivity to oil temperature variations and contamination. Backpressure on tank port 2 directly adds to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio. This model incorporates Sun\u2019s floating style construction to prevent internal binding due to excessive torque or machining variations.
