The Sun Hydraulics RBAEOWE (RBAEOWE) is a two-port, pilot-stage, direct-acting relief cartridge designed as a fully adjustable, normally closed pressure regulating valve. It operates by opening a flow path from port 1 to port 2 when the inlet pressure at port 1 surpasses the set spring force. Utilizing the Sun T8A two-port cavity, this cartridge is optimal for integration with Sun's main stage pilot or vent-to-operate cartridges, eliminating the need for separate pilot lines and allowing for a single cavity to manage both control and primary functions. All two-position, two-way pilot stage control cartridges share the same cavity and are interchangeable based on functionality requirements. For installation, it is crucial to first secure the main stage valve to its specified torque before attaching the T8A pilot control section. The valve supports pressures up to 5000 psi (350 bar) at both ports 1 and 2. It features a hardened poppet and seat that ensure consistent operation, low leakage rates, and excellent wear characteristics. The backpressure at port 2 is directly added to the pressure setting at port 1. The cartridge incorporates Sun's floating style construction to minimize binding risks due to excessive torque or machining variations in the cavity or cartridge. It has a capacity of 2.5 gpm (10 L/min) with factory pressure settings established at 2 in/min (30 cc/min). The maximum operating pressure is rated at 5000 psi (350 bar), with a typical response time of 2 ms and maximum valve leakage of 15 drops/min (1 cc/min). The installation requires specific torque values for various components such as the valve hex size, adjustment screw internal hex size, locknut hex size, and corresponding torque settings. Cartridges configured with EPDM seals are suitable for systems using phosphate ester fluids but not compatible with petroleum-based fluids.
