The Sun Hydraulics RBADLAV (RBADLAV) is a direct-acting, pilot relief cartridge designed with back-to-back check valves, allowing it to remotely control two other pilot-operated valves or function as a thermal relief for both ends of an actuator. This valve is ideal for load-holding applications, as it prevents overpressure due to thermal expansion of the fluid. With a check cracking pressure of 15 psi (1 bar), the valve's pressure at port 3 is directly additive to its setting. The RBADLAV features Sun's floating style construction, minimizing the risk of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque or cavity/cartridge machining variations. The valve's capacity is limited to pilot flow, making it suitable for use with other valves that have comparable pilot flows. It boasts a cavity size of T-11A and Series 1 capacity of 0.25 gpm (1 L/min) with a typical response time of 2 ms. The maximum valve leakage at 110 SUS (24 cSt) is limited to 5 drops/min (0.3 cc/min). The adjustment can be made through five clockwise turns to increase the setting, and it incorporates an internal hex screw size of 5/32 in. (4 mm). The locknut hex size is 9/16 in. (15 mm), with a torque specification between 80 and 90 lbf-in (9 - 10 Nm). The RBADLAV also includes features such as one adjustment controlling two valves and preventing cross-talk between them via the back-to-back check valves. This component integrates seamlessly into systems requiring precise control over pressure settings and reliable performance in demanding environments.

This direct-acting, pilot relief cartridge incorporates back-to-back check valves. This allows it to remotely control 2 other pilot-operated valves or act as a thermal relief for both ends of an actuator. Because capacity is limited to pilot flow, this valve should be used with other valves with comparable pilot flows.

  • The back-to-back check valves prevent cross talk between the two valves that are being remote controlled.
  • One adjustment controls two valves.
  • Check cracking pressure is 15 psi (1 bar).
  • Pressure at port 3 is directly additive to the valve setting.
  • Suitable for load holding applications
  • The term thermal relief means it prevents overpressure due to thermal expansion of the fluid.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
