The Sun Hydraulics PBBBLNN (Material Number: PBBBLNN) is a pilot-operated pressure reducing valve designed to manage high primary pressure at inlet port 2, reducing it to a constant and manageable level at port 1. This feature allows for circuits with varying pressure requirements to be efficiently operated using a single pump. The valve is equipped with a mechanism that may close the main spool if full reverse flow occurs from reduced pressure port 1 to inlet port 2; therefore, adding a separate check valve is recommended if reverse free flow is necessary. It boasts exceptionally flat pressure-flow characteristics, stability, and low hysteresis due to its pilot-operated design. The minimum setting for all spring ranges is 75 psi (5 bar), and the pressure at port 3 can be directly added to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio, not exceeding 5000 psi (350 bar). The Sun floating style construction minimizes internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque or machining variations in cavity/cartridge. This model fits into cavity T-163A series and has a capacity of 5 gpm (20 L/min). It operates under a maximum pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar) with control pilot flow between 7 - 10 in/min (0.11 - 0.16 L/min). The adjustment requires up to five clockwise turns to increase settings, with specific torque requirements for installation and locknut adjustments. This robust design also comes with Viton seals as standard in its cartridge seal kit, ensuring reliability in various applications where precise pressure regulation is critical.

Pilot-operated, pressure reducing valves reduce a high primary pressure at the inlet (port 2) to a constant reduced pressure at port 1, allowing circuits with multiple pressure requirements to be operated using a single pump.
- Full reverse flow from reduced pressure (port 1) to inlet (port 2) may cause the main spool to close. If reverse free flow is required in the circuit, consider adding a separate check valve to the circuit.
- Minimum setting is 75 psi (5 bar) for all spring ranges.
- Pilot operated valves exhibit exceptionally flat pressure/flow characteristics, are very stable and have low hysteresis.
- Pressure at port 3 is directly additive to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio and should not exceed 5000 psi (350 bar).
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
