The Sun Hydraulics PBBBCBN (PBBBCBN) is a pilot-operated pressure reducing valve designed to manage high primary pressures at the inlet port 2 and maintain a consistent reduced pressure at port 1. This capability allows for circuits with varying pressure requirements to operate efficiently using a single pump system. The valve features full reverse flow from the reduced pressure port 1 to inlet port 2, which may cause the main spool to close; therefore, incorporating a separate check valve might be necessary if reverse free flow is required. It has a minimum setting of 75 psi (5 bar) for all spring ranges and demonstrates exceptionally flat pressure-flow characteristics, stability, and low hysteresis. The valve's design incorporates Sun's floating style construction, minimizing internal part binding due to installation torque or cavity/cartridge machining variations. The PBBBCBN model fits into the T-163A cavity and has a capacity of up to 5 gpm (20 L/min). It can handle maximum operating pressures of up to 5000 psi (350 bar) with control pilot flow ranging between 7-10 in/min (0.11-0.16 L/min). Adjustment requires approximately five clockwise turns to increase settings and involves specific torque requirements for installation and locknut adjustments. The unit weighs approximately 0.30 lb (0.15 kg) and uses Viton seal kits for enhanced durability. This product is ideal for applications requiring precise pressure regulation across multiple circuit demands, providing reliable performance in maintaining desired pressure levels while ensuring system stability.

Pilot-operated, pressure reducing valves reduce a high primary pressure at the inlet (port 2) to a constant reduced pressure at port 1, allowing circuits with multiple pressure requirements to be operated using a single pump.
- Full reverse flow from reduced pressure (port 1) to inlet (port 2) may cause the main spool to close. If reverse free flow is required in the circuit, consider adding a separate check valve to the circuit.
- Minimum setting is 75 psi (5 bar) for all spring ranges.
- Pilot operated valves exhibit exceptionally flat pressure/flow characteristics, are very stable and have low hysteresis.
- Pressure at port 3 is directly additive to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio and should not exceed 5000 psi (350 bar).
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
