The Sun Hydraulics NFCCODN (NFCCODN) is a versatile needle valve designed for precise flow regulation in hydraulic systems. This fully adjustable orifice allows for infinite adjustment from a fully closed position to the maximum orifice diameter, providing users with the flexibility to control flow rates effectively. The NFCCODN model is not pressure compensated, meaning it can function as both a flow control and a shutoff valve. It features a balanced adjustment mechanism that ensures easy operation even under high-pressure conditions, with the capability to handle up to 5000 psi (350 bar). The sharp-edged orifice design minimizes flow variations due to changes in fluid viscosity, ensuring consistent performance. This bidirectional valve has an optimal flow path from port 1 to port 2, allowing for interchangeability with other flow control devices. The valve's compact design includes a cavity type T-13A, series 1, with a capacity of 7 gpm (28 L/min) and requires specific installation dimensions such as a valve hex size of .78 inches (22.2 mm) and an internal hex size for the adjustment screw of 5/32 inches (4 mm). The locknut torque ranges between 80 \u2013 90 lbf-in (9 \u2013 10 Nm), and it comes with Viton seals suitable for various applications except those involving petroleum-based fluids, which can damage EPDM seals. Weighing just .30 lb (0.15 kg), this needle valve is lightweight yet robust enough for demanding hydraulic applications. Ideal for systems requiring precise flow adjustments without leakage when closed, the NFCCODN serves as an efficient solution in maintaining optimal system performance.

Needle valves are fully adjustable orifices used to regulate flow. They are infinitely adjustable from fully closed up to the maximum orifice diameter. They are not pressure compensated and may be used as flow controls or as shutoff valves.
- All 2-port flow control cartridges are physically and functionally interchangeable (i.e. same flow path, same cavity for a given frame size). However, cartridge extension dimensions from the mounting surface may vary.
- Because needle valves are non-compensating devices, the fixed orifice size will regulate flow through the valve in proportion to the square root of the pressure differential across ports 1 and 2.
- A balanced adjustment mechanism allows for easy adjustment even at high pressures.
- The sharp-edged orifice design minimizes flow variations due to viscosity changes.
- The flow path through this valve is bi-directional. The preferred path is port 1 to 2, to allow interchangeability with other flow controls.
- There is no leakage when the adjustment mechanism is turned to the shut-off position.
- Cartridges configured with EPDM seals are for use in systems with phosphate ester fluids. Exposure to petroleum based fluids, greases and lubricants will damage the seals.
