The Sun Hydraulics FPCCDBV2C12V (FPCCDBV2C12V) is a normally-closed, electroproportional throttle valve designed for precise flow control in hydraulic systems. This valve is spring-biased to remain closed until the coil is energized, at which point an opening force proportional to the command current is applied to the spool, creating a metering orifice. The effective size of this orifice adjusts in response to the current, allowing for proportional flow control. The valve offers significant self-compensation in one flow direction and can provide proportional control in the opposite direction with an external compensator. It supports full reverse flow without a compensator under all conditions when fully energized. Available configurations include normally open or closed settings and three capacity ranges, withstanding pressures up to 5000 psi. The valve features low leakage levels when closed and interchangeable coils compatible with other Sun solenoid-operated valves. Several manual override options are available, including no manual override and temporary actuation mechanisms with a mechanical life expectancy of approximately 7,000 cycles. An amplifier with current sensing and adjustable dither (between 100 - 250 Hz) is recommended for optimal performance. The FPCCDBV2C12V incorporates Sun's floating style construction to minimize internal binding risks due to excessive torque or machining variations. It fits into a T-13A cavity and offers a capacity of up to 10 gpm (40 L/min). The valve's installation torque ranges from 30 - 35 lbf ft (41 - 47 Nm), and it has a manual override force requirement of 5 lbs/1000 psi at Port 1. This model also supports EPDM seals for systems using phosphate ester fluids, although exposure to petroleum-based fluids should be avoided as it may damage the seals.

This valve is a normally-closed, electro-proportional throttle. The valve is spring biased closed. Energizing the coil generates an opening force on the spool proportional to the command current and this force is countered by the spring and flow forces. This force balance creates a metering orifice whose effective size is proportional to the current. The valve exhibits a large degree of self-compensation in the 1 to 2 direction and will provide proportional flow control in the 2 to 1 direction with the addition of an external compensator. Full reverse flow (2 to 1) with 100% command in the 2 to 1 direction is possible without a compensator under all conditions.

  • Available in either a normally open or normally closed configuration with three different capacity ranges.
  • Capable of operating with pressures up to 5000 psi.
  • Low leakage levels in the closed position.
  • Coils are interchangeable with Sun's other full flow, solenoid-operated valves and can be mounted on the tube in either direction.
  • This cartridge has several manual override choices, including no manual override. See Option Configuration.
  • For optimum performance, an amplifier with current sensing and adjustable dither should be used. Dither should be adjustable between 100 - 250 Hz.
  • On models equipped with the D or L control, the detent mechanism in the manual override is meant for temporary actuation. The D, E, L and T manual control assemblies have a mechanical life expectancy of approximately 7,000 cycles.
  • The momentary/twist override option "E" allows the operator to shift the valve by twisting the manual override clockwise 90 degrees.
  • Cartridges with EPDM seals are for use in systems with phosphate ester fluids. Exposure to petroleum based fluids, greases and lubricants will damage the seals.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
