The Sun Hydraulics DNCALLV512 (DNCALLV512) is a solenoid-operated, 4-way, 2-position cartridge valve that features a direct-acting, balanced spool directional design. This valve is engineered with a closed transition between positions to minimize oil loss during shifting, which is particularly advantageous in pilot control circuits. With a valve capacity based on port 3 as the inlet and port 1 as the tank, it can handle up to 8 gpm (30 L/min) with a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). The valve does not require minimum hydraulic pressure for operation and is equipped with a fatigue-rated solenoid tube assembly suitable for high-pressure service. The DNCALLV512 utilizes EPDM seals for compatibility with phosphate ester fluids; however, exposure to petroleum-based fluids will damage these seals. Its wet armature design allows the working fluid to surround the armature, which may affect performance if the coil remains energized for extended periods. The solenoid's magnetic design ensures high efficiency and reliable valve shifting by providing substantial spool actuating force per watt expended. The valve's coil options include various termination and voltage choices, some offering surge protection and weatherized features rated up to IP69K. Coils are interchangeable with other Sun Series 1 solenoid products and can be mounted in either direction. The floating style construction minimizes internal part binding due to installation torque or machining variations. Manual override capabilities are also included, requiring minimal force and providing a stroke of .10 inches (2.5 mm). This versatile cartridge valve is ideal for applications requiring efficient directional control under high-pressure conditions while ensuring minimal fluid loss during operation transitions.

This solenoid-operated, 4-way, 2-position cartridge is a direct-acting, balanced spool directional valve. The transition between positions is closed. The closed transition greatly reduces the loss of oil when shifting which can be of particular importance in pilot control circuits.
- Valve capacity is based on port 3 as the inlet and port 1 as the tank. Although reverse flow is possible, the same performance cannot be guaranteed and is not recommended.
- The solenoid tube assembly is fatigue rated for 5000 psi (350 bar) service.
- This valve is direct actuated and requires no minimum hydraulic pressure for operation.
- Cartridges configured with EPDM seals are for use in systems with phosphate ester fluids. Exposure to petroleum based fluids, greases and lubricants will damage the seals.
- This valve utilizes a wet armature design. This means that the working fluid surrounds the armature and is exposed to the heat generated by the coil. This can be a factor if the coil is energized for long periods of time. Some fluids, notably water/glycol mixtures, break down at these temperatures over time and form varnishes that will affect the function of the cartridge.
- A wide variety of coil termination and voltage options are available, with and without surge protection. See the CONFIGURATION section.
- The solenoid's unique magnetic design results in a high efficiency solenoid, yielding high spool actuating force per Watt expended, leading to reliable valve shifting.
- Coils are interchangeable with other Sun Series 1 solenoid products and can be mounted on the tube in either direction.
- Coil connector options offer ratings up to IP69K. See individual coil product pages for details. Additional weatherized coils and kits are available for more complete environmental protection.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
