The Sun Hydraulics DKDSXHN/AP (DKDSXHN/AP) is a high-performance hydraulic valve designed for precise control in fluid power applications. This model features a normally closed, balanced poppet switching element, which shifts to an open position when pilot pressure is applied at port 3. Constructed for durability and reliability, the valve can handle pressures up to 5000 psi (350 bar) at ports 1 and 2 with an external drain open. It requires a minimum pilot pressure of 400 psi (30 bar) to shift, ensuring robust operation under varying conditions. The DKDSXHN/AP valve is particularly noted for its unique balanced construction which ensures predictable switching between ports. The valve's design minimizes leakage\u2014typically less than 10 drops/min at 5000 psi\u2014thus enhancing system efficiency. Additionally, it incorporates Sun Hydraulics' floating style construction which reduces the risk of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque or cavity/cartridge machining variations. This model also features fully sealed connections between port 1 and port 2 from ports 3 and 4, ensuring no cross-contamination or leakage across these channels. The backpressure at the drain port directly adds to the required pilot pressure, enhancing the valve's operational reliability. The DKDSXHN/AP is equipped with EPDM seals suitable for use with phosphate ester fluids; however, these seals must not be exposed to petroleum-based fluids as they could be damaged. With a maximum flow capacity of 15 gpm (60 L/min), this valve is capable of handling significant fluid volumes efficiently. Its compact design includes a hex size of 7/8 in (22.2 mm) and weighs only .35 lb (0.15 kg), making it easy to install in various configurations without adding significant weight or bulk to the system setup.

This is a normally closed, balanced poppet, switching element. Pilot pressure at port 3 shifts the valve to the open position.

  • Unique balanced construction provides predictable switching with 5000 psi (350 bar) at both ports 1 and 2, with the external drain open and a minimum pilot pressure of 400 psi (30 bar).
  • Cartridges configured with EPDM seals are for use in systems with phosphate ester fluids. Exposure to petroleum based fluids, greases and lubricants will damage the seals.
  • These valves are hydraulically balanced between port 1 and port 2.
  • Port 1 and port 2 are fully sealed from port 3 and port 4. Ports 3 and 4 are positively sealed.
  • Any backpressure at the drain port is directly additive to the required pilot pressure for reliable operation.
  • Leakage rate between port 1 and port 2 is very low, typically less than 10 drops/min. at 5000 psi (0,7 cc/min at 350 bar).
  • Valve will reseat when the pilot pressure falls below 145 psi (10 bar).
  • All ports will accept 5000 psi (350 bar).
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
