The Sun Hydraulics DKDPKDN (DKDPKDN) is a high-performance hydraulic valve featuring a normally closed, balanced poppet switching element. This valve is designed to operate efficiently under high pressures up to 5000 psi (350 bar) for both port 1 and port 2. It ensures reliable operation with its unique balanced construction that allows for predictable switching behavior. A key functionality of the DKDPKDN model is its response to pilot pressure applied at port 3; the poppet remains closed until this pressure surpasses a pre-set threshold determined by an integral pilot relief stage, after which the poppet shifts to an open position. Additionally, any backpressure at the drain port directly adds to the valve setting, enhancing its versatility in various hydraulic systems. This model also features very low leakage rates between port 1 and port 2, typically less than 10 drops per minute at 5000 psi, or approximately 0.7 cc/min at 350 bar. The DKDPKDN valve incorporates Sun's floating style construction which minimizes internal parts binding\u2014this can occur due to excessive installation torque or variations in cavity/cartridge machining. Furthermore, the valve has a maximum flow capacity of 15 gpm (60 L/min), with required minimum pilot pressure for shifting set at 400 psi (28 bar). It supports maximum operating pressures up to 5000 psi (350 bar). For installation and adjustments, it features specific hex sizes for the adjustment screw and locknut, ensuring easy maintenance and setup. Overall, the Sun Hydraulics DKDPKDN offers robust performance and reliability for demanding hydraulic applications where precise control of flow and pressure are critical.

This is a normally closed, balanced poppet, switching element. When pilot pressure is applied to port 3, the poppet remains closed until the pilot pressure reaches the setting established by the integral pilot relief stage, at which point the poppet shifts to the open position.
- Unique balanced construction provides predictable switching with 5000 psi (350 bar) at both port 1 and port 2. When the remote pressure signal at port 3 exceeds the internal valve setting, the valve shifts to the open position.
- Any backpressure at the drain port is directly additive to the valve setting.
- Valve will reseat when the pilot pressure falls to 85% of the cracking value.
- Port 1 and port 2 are fully sealed from port 3 and port 4. Ports 3 and 4 are positively sealed.
- Leakage rate between port 1 and port 2 is very low, typically less than 10 drops/min. at 5000 psi (0,7 cc/min at 350 bar).
- All ports will accept 5000 psi (350 bar).
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
