The Sun Hydraulics DCCCXNV (DCCCXNV) is a three-position, 4-way directional cartridge valve that features a spring-centered design and six ports for versatile hydraulic flow direction. This model operates with a maximum pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar) and accommodates flow rates from 7 to 10 gpm (28 to 40 L/min). The valve's unique construction includes hardened spool and sleeve, which ensure minimal leakage and excellent wear characteristics, crucial for maintaining efficiency and longevity in hydraulic systems. Each port on the DCCCXNV, including pilot ports 5 and 6, supports the maximum operating pressure, enhancing the valve's capability to handle high-pressure applications consistently. The floating style construction of the valve prevents internal parts binding which might occur due to excessive installation torque or variations in cavity/cartridge machining. Additionally, this model requires a minimum pilot pressure of 175 psi (12 bar) to shift the valve, ensuring reliable operation under varied conditions. The DCCCXNV is designed with precision to prevent leakage between pilot ports and work ports, ensuring operational integrity and safety. With a compact model weight of .40 lb (0.20 kg), it offers an efficient solution for space-conscious applications without compromising performance. The installation specifications include a valve hex size of 7/8 in. (22.2 mm) and an installation torque range of 30 - 35 lbf ft (41 - 47 Nm), making it straightforward to integrate into existing systems. This model is particularly suited for applications requiring precise control over hydraulic flow with varying pressure conditions, where consistent performance and durability are critical.

Three-position, 4-way directional cartridges are spring-centered, 6-port directional valves that can be configured from a choice of spool options. The supply port is port 3 and all ports will accept 5000 psi (350 bar). Capacity for these pilot-to-shift valves is dependent on the spool type specified.

  • All ports will accept 5000 psi (350 bar), including the x and y pilot ports (port 5 and port 6).
  • The reason for the different capacities, or performance limits, for the different spool configurations are flow forces. Flow forces are proportional to flow and pressure drop. Typically, they resist the opening of a passage. Spool configurations that open passages as they spring center are the most susceptible. If the flow forces due to the flow and pressure conditions exceed the centering spring force the valve may not shift completely. Higher flows may be used at lower pressures.
  • Leakage listed in technical data is for each path.
  • The pilot ports, 5 and 6, are positively sealed from the work ports.
  • Hardened spool and sleeve provide consistent and low spool leakage rates and excellent wear characteristics.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
