The Bosch Rexroth CLAMPING ELEMENT MBPS 5505 AS1A (R161954031) is a high-performance pneumatic clamping unit designed to provide dynamic and static stabilization in the axial direction for ball rail systems. It features a robust, chemically nickel-plated steel housing that ensures durability and low air consumption while maintaining high continuous output and positioning accuracy. This maintenance-free unit can handle up to 10 million clamping cycles and up to 250,000 emergency braking operations. The CLAMPING ELEMENT MBPS 5505 AS1A is versatile and can be used with various sizes of profiled rail systems, including size B, E, H, A, and N. It offers integrated all-around sealing for protection against contaminants and is capable of delivering holding forces up to 24,000 N at just 5.5 bar release pressure due to its design that includes three pistons connected in series with strong springs. Operating with a nominal air pressure of 6 bar, the clamping element utilizes a dual-acting gate valve gear mechanism with spring energy accumulators for reliable clamping or braking even in the event of pressure loss. The integrated quick-exhaust valve ensures swift reaction times for efficient operation. The permissible ambient temperature range for this unit spans from -20°C to +80°C, accommodating various working environments. Overall, the Bosch Rexroth CLAMPING ELEMENT MBPS 5505 AS1A offers a compact solution for users requiring precise control over their ball rail systems with minimal maintenance requirements. Its advanced design ensures safety and reliability across numerous applications where accurate positioning and emergency stopping are critical.

Pneumatic clamping unit MBPS, FLS for ball rail systems
Size = 55
Can be used on all SNS ball guide rails

Unpacked Weight: 3.905 kg

Functional principle

Air pressure: 0 bar

Clamps and brakes with spring force

In the event of a pressure drop, the clamping or braking effect is achieved via a dual acting gate valve gear mechanism with one spring assembly (spring energy accumulator) in each case.

An integrated quick-exhaust valve provides for short reaction times.

5.5 - 8 bar (UBPS)

Decompression with air pressure

The clamping profiles are held apart by the compressed air.

Note for mounting

Make sure the connection structure is rigid. Use only purified, lubricated air. The prescribed filter mesh size is 25 μm. Observe the mounting instructions prior to commissioning. Check whether the sealing lips of the front seals are resting evenly on the Ball Guide Rail. Realign if necessary.
