The Bosch Rexroth BRAKING ELEMENT UBPS 3505 AS1A (R161934051) is a state-of-the-art pneumatic braking unit designed for dynamic and static stabilization in the axial direction of ball rail systems. This compact and maintenance-free component is engineered to offer high positioning accuracy and can be used with all SNS ball guide rails, including Size B, E, H, d, and N profiled rail systems. It features an integrated all-around sealing and a robust steel housing that is chemically nickel-plated for durability. Capable of up to 10 million clamping cycles and 100,000 emergency braking operations, this braking element ensures reliable operation over an extended service life. It provides very high axial holding forces of up to 2,500 N at just 4 bar release pressure due to its high-power spring energy accumulator. For applications requiring even greater holding force, the unit can deliver up to 5,000 N when additional pressurization is applied on the airplus port. The UBPS 3505 AS1A operates efficiently with extremely low air consumption and includes a mechanical gate valve gear mechanism that clamps and brakes without pressurization using spring energy. This feature guarantees safety as it ensures clamping or braking in case of pressure drops. The device also boasts quick reaction times thanks to an integrated quick-exhaust valve. Designed for versatility, the unit can accommodate a wide range of ambient temperatures from -20°C to +80°C and comes with various size specifications such as runner block heights and thread diameters (Size S thread diameter M12). Furthermore, it has a nominal size that aligns with industry standards for ease of integration into existing systems. The functional principle of the UBPS 3505 AS1A involves clamping and braking with spring force at standard air pressure while decompression with air pressure allows free movement when required.

Pneumatic braking unit UBPS, FLS for ball rail systems
Size = 35
Can be used on all SNS ball guide rails
Unpacked Weight: 2.415 kg
Functional principle
Air pressure: 0 bar
Clamps and brakes with spring force
In the event of a pressure drop, the clamping or braking effect is achieved via a dual acting gate valve gear mechanism with one spring assembly (spring energy accumulator) in each case.
An integrated quick-exhaust valve provides for short reaction times.
Air pressure: 4.5 - 8 bar (MBPS)
5.5 - 8 bar (UBPS)
Decompression with air pressure
The clamping profiles are held apart by the compressed air.
