The Bosch Rexroth STD.LINEAR BUSHING KBM-O-20 (R063002000) is a high-quality standard linear bushing designed for robust and efficient linear motion applications. This open type bushing is crafted without seals, featuring a rugged all-metal design with a steel ball retainer, making it suitable for harsh environments and heavy contamination. The absence of seals allows it to operate in higher temperature conditions or under vacuum, with permissible ambient temperatures ranging from -30°C to +80°C. The KBM-O-20 bushing has many pockets that act as lubricant reservoirs, either for extended lubrication intervals or potentially for life, reducing maintenance requirements. These pockets also serve the purpose of collecting dirt to prevent jamming of the bushing. The product is designed without a locating hole for shaft diameters 12 and 16 mm, while other sizes come with locating holes for both axial and radial securing. The outer sleeve of the bushing is hardened and ground, ensuring durability and precision. It utilizes balls made from rolling bearing steel arranged in multiple rows within the steel ball retainer to support dynamic loads effectively. The dynamic load capacity C is specified by the manufacturer, taking into consideration the main direction of loading. This model boasts an impressive maximum acceleration (amax), low friction coefficient when lubricated with oil which varies depending on load conditions, and has a static load rating C0 that indicates its ability to withstand static forces without permanent deformation. Its breakaway force is also noted by Bosch Rexroth, which can be affected by the presence of wiper seals if applicable. With a weight of 0.2 kg and specific radial clearance parameters provided by Bosch Rexroth for different shaft and bore combinations (h9/H7), this linear bushing is optimized for applications such as woodworking machinery, foundries, cement plants where durability in challenging conditions is paramount.

Impact of load direction on load rating of open Linear Bushings

The load ratings C and C0 apply for the main direction of loading ρ = 0°. For all other load directions, the load ratings must be multiplied by the factors fρ (dynamic load rating C) or fρ0 (static load rating C0).

Installing specific Linear Bushings can prevent reductions in load capacity (see Linear Set with side opening).

Definition of dynamic load ratings

Installation dimensions/interchangeability

Standard Linear Bushings have the same installation dimensions as super Linear Bushings. They are interchangeable, differ however in terms of securing, radial clearance, load ratings and lubrication.

Sealing

Standard Linear Bushings come with a wiper seal with shaft diameters of 5 and higher. Open standard Linear Bushings with shaft diameters 20 to 80 can also come fully sealed (with longitudinal seal; increased friction).

Main direction of loading

Shaft diameters 12 and 16 must be installed as shown (inversely) in order to avoid lifting off the shaft. It is not possible to set a single linear bushing (slotted housing with adjusting screw) to zero clearance.
